Hello friends! Shemaine here today sharing some Spring bug-themed creations with Deco Foil DUO Transfer Gel and some of the newer spring-colored Deco foils.

Spring Friendship Cards with Deco Foil DUO

To start off these projects I gather some stencils for a couple of different looks and use our Deco Foil Duo over them on 110lb cardstock. Once I’ve used each stencil with the DUO gel, I set them aside to dry for a few hours.

Now that the stencils have dried, I’m taking the cloud pattern stencil and running it thru my laminator with the Ocean Blue Transfer Sheet which happens to be on sale over at the Therm-O-Web site.

Once it’s foiled I use a blending brush and the It’s a boy mini ink from Catherine Pooler and adds some color with the foiled clouds with the other cloud stencil from Pretty Pink Posh.

Next, I stamped the images I will be using for this card from the Hello Spring set from Hello Bluebird. Then I color them with my Copic markers and arrange them on the card.

Next, I cut the grass with some dies and used some of Gina K’s adhesive to attach them to the card base.

Using foam squares I attached the Duo’d scene to the card base.

Then I arranged all the stamped images to create the scene on my card and finished with my sentiment.

The result is a really fun background for all these cute images.

For my second card, I used the Floral Stencil from Tim Holtz that I already Duo’d and foil it with the Prince Periwinkle Deco Foil. The result is beautiful.

Using a slimline die from Hello Bluebird called Gallery Frame Die #5, I cut with a light purple cardstock and create a scene with the Duo’d stencil behind it as a cute backdrop for my little dragonflies and bug stamps. I used our 3D XL runner to adhere the pieces to the slimline card base by Brutus Monroe. They were kind enough to send the team some samples from a previous blog promotion. I really love having these pre-cut card bases handy.

Next, I stamp all the images I am going to be using for the card and emboss them. This helps my color not bleed when I color them with Copic markers. These little dragonflies are the cutest!

Then I finish coloring the other bugs and images I’ll be using.

Next, I cut them out and arrange them on the Duo’d floral background to look like they are flying around the flowers, the dragonflies are dancing on a branch, and adding a cute mushroom and the frogs and snail in the grass.

The finished result is a fun spring-themed card to brighten someone’s day.
