Happy New Year!
I learned so many great sewing tricks and tips last year and am looking forward to learning even more in 2012! One of my great “discoveries” happened when I was quilting my Silly Goose toddler quilt.
I was using the existing seams of the quilt as a guide for quilting straight lines. This is one of the easiest ways to quilt, but I ran into a little problem when the seams ended at the quilt’s border.
With no seam to follow, I was at risk of quilting a crooked line if I continued without any guidance. Then came Therm O Web’s PeelnStick Ruler Tape to the rescue!!! After removing my quilt from my machine, all I had to do was add a little piece of the ruler tape to “extend” the seam into the border and to the edge.
Once it looked straight, I just resumed my sewing 1/4″ away from the edge of the ruler tape.
Ta da! I just lifted the tape off and moved it to the next area it was needed! You can reuse the same piece of tape several times before you need a new one. Such an easy fix!
