Shine Bright Layout Details
To begin, you will need to heat your laminator or have a manual die cutting machine on hand to use for transferring the foil and flock to the Transfer Gel Duo. Next, using the Transfer Gel Duo and the Brutus Monroe stencil, apply the Duo gel to several sheets of cardstock, using the Stencil Pal. I did about 4 or 5 sheets of cardstock. Let dry until clear.
During the time your gel is drying, you can work on other parts of the layout. Die-cut the holiday die twice from the Peel n Stick toner sheets and set to the side until the laminator is warmed up.
Next, you are going to cover the Slimline envelope with pattern paper to decorate it and use it as the focal point of your layout. I wanted to use my 6×8 paper pad, so I had to trim the envelope down slightly, so that that the pattern paper would fit completely on the envelope. You can see how much I trimmed the envelope down.
Trace your pattern paper and trim it. Then you are going to adhere the pattern paper to the envelope by using the Sticky Strip Runner or Memory Runner XL.
Once your Transfer Duo gel stenciled papers are dry, you can begin covering them. I used both foil and flock transfer sheets. I also divide my papers up in half, so that I would have more color choices.
NOTE: In the area that didn’t cover with foil, I spread my Duo Gel too thin. Make sure you have an even smooth covering in your open stencil areas.TooltipTextOn the flocked pieces, I ended up using some ink to change the flock colors to match my layout colors better. This is a great way to customize your flock colors!
Once all the stencil areas were flocked/inked/foiled, I trimmed them out by hand, because I wanted to make a cluster of the stencil elements. Plus the stencil was a great size to use for this! Once I had them cut out, I kept them in piles by color. This makes it easier to pick and choose what pieces and colors you want to go where!
Next, I covered the die-cut ornament pieces with Copper Deco Foil. Once I had them foiled, then I trimmed the ornaments out and cut off the “hook holding” area. I just wanted these to look like little balls in the leaf clusters.
To create the torn area of my layout, I actually built most of the layout on that dark paper and then decided I needed a lighter color, so I just tore the paper until I just had a section of it. Then I placed the entire piece on another piece of pattern paper to make it pop!
Finish up by adding some extra embellishments and you have a completed fall layout!!! Thanks for stopping by today!!!
