Mixed Media Butterfly Canvas Instructions:
I chose a piece of text paper from Anna Griffin to adhere a 6×6 piece of Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Adhesive sheets 9×12 to. Next, I misted the paper with 2 different colors of Glimmer Mist.
Next, I used some painters tape to tape down the Crafters Workshop Mini Butterfly Trail 6×6 Stencil to my cardstock.
For the next step, I applied the Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel over the stencil and then lifted the stencil so the design could dry.
I noticed that the Glimmer mist bled thru the transfer gel but that didn’t matter since I was going to foil the image with Rebekah Meier Designs Transfer Foil 6″ x 6″ (12 sheets per pack) • Patina.
Now that the transfer gel was foiled, I was ready to adhere the Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Adhesive sheet to the canvas and decorate.
I used a paintbrush to apply some of the Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Medium to adhere the frame onto my canvas. This medium works great for adhering paper and other paper elements to the canvas. It can also be used over the image to add a seal to it.
After adhering the frame, I cut a butterfly die twice and layered it with a 3D WHITE FOAM SQUARE • 1/4 IN. I then applied a small amount of the Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Medium to the bottom and adhered it to the frame.
I finished my project with a stamped sentiment and some Petaloo flowers. All of the embellishments I used were items I already had in my craft stash. I love being able to use up older items rather than purchasing more things I might not use right away. These smaller canvases are easy to create quickly and make great gifts. Look through your stash and see what you can find to create with today.
Thank you for stopping by for Mix it Up Monday!
