Hello Therm-O-Web friends! We are having a fabulous time this week with Sassy and Crafty! Today I am sharing two cards I created with the cute Salty but Sweet stamp set paired with our new Blossom Buddies Toner sheets and featured Deco Foil colors and Glitz glitter gel.
Mermaid Cards
To start my card design I inked up the Sassy And Craft Flower Burst Stencil with Cummerbund die ink from the new Date Night collection by Catherine Pooler Designs. I went for a gradient look, working the ink darker around the outside.
Next, I added the Drive-in die ink also from the Date Night collection from Catherine Pooler Designs. I am new to these inks but I must share that I find them to be high quality and blend very well.
Next, I decided to sprinkle some embossing powder over my design and set it with a heat tool. Normally die inks do not hold embossing powder but the Catherine Pooler inks do.
The embossed result looks really beautiful. I then used some of the Glitz Glitter gel in Iridescent to spread over the stencil in the middle of the design.
Now I set the card front aside to dry for about 45 mins. I ink up a second card base with Chiffon ink from Catherine Pooler.
Then I add some catching rays to create a sunset look.
next, I stamped the image I want to use from the Sassy and Salty set.
I emboss the images and then color them with my Copic markers.
For the first mermaid, I color her in purples to stand out against the blues I chose for the background of the card base and use a white gel pen by Sakura to add some accents to her tail.
For the second mermaid, I color her in teal and color her hair blonde.
I wanted to use the new Blossom Buddies toner sheet in a fun way for this card so I came up with an idea to cut the toner sheet into waves using metal dies. First, I foiled the toner sheet with the ocean blue foil transfer sheet.
Next, I used some wave dies from My Favorite Things to cut some waves.
I layer the wave over my stenciled background using some of the XL adhesive.
I use our 3D foam squares to add the next wave to the card base.
I also use foam squares to adhere the mermaid to the card base.
I colored a few of the shell images to add to my card.
The finished card is super fun! I added a pop of BLossom buddies foiled in Brutus Monroe’s Orange Sketch.
Here’s a look at everything I used to create this card.
I also adhere the mermaid to the second card base with a 3d foam square.
I add the sentiment and here we have the finished card. I love all the texture happening in this background.
Here’s a look at the products used on this card. Everything used today is also listed below.
And there you have it. The same stamp set, two different looks. A big thank you to Sassy & Crafty for teaming up with us this week and sending these fabulous products to create with!
