Santa Paws and Holiday Cards with Deco Foil Gel

Hello!  It’s Santa week here at Therm O Web and I’ve got some really cute projects using an adorable Avery Elle stamp set called Santa Paws with a couple iridescent snowflake backgrounds!

I just love these sweet pups!

And those snowflakes!!

I started by stamping, cutting and coloring the pups, but I wasn’t sure right away what the backgrounds would be so I waited on coloring up the rest.

I picked out a couple gel prints I made last weekend in colors I liked and a snowflake stencil.  I sprayed the stencil with Pixie Spray which is especially helpful with delicate stencils like this.  I applied some Transfer Gel Blanco to the prints.

I let them dry for a couple hours and then finished coloring up my pups and their toys.

When they were dry, I decided to use some Opal Deco Foil on the blue one.  I love the Opal foil because it’s a little bit translucent.  Gel prints made with acrylic paint will sometimes take some foil transfer and in this case it did so the white snowflakes still stand out and then the extra foil is just a bonus!

I decided on Magical Shattered Glass for the multi-colored one with pink and blue because it’s really see-through and again… very very cool effect.

And be sure to save those used sheets because they come in handy to add some extra foil to more gel prints.  Again, this is not a technique that you’ll be able to know the outcome… how much foil or how little will transfer… but sometimes a little is all you need!

I used these lightly foiled prints to die cut the frames and some hats for my pups!

And done!  I just needed to stamp a couple sentiments on sentiment strips and a few sequins!

Don’t you just love all of the sparkle!  And that Opal foil is just… yummy!  And these pups!

And this one with the Magical Shattered Glass… I love how it plays with the multi colors of my gel print!

I added the cute little die cut Santa hats to my pups because … well… it’s Santa week!

Thank you so much for stopping!  Be sure to check out all of this week’s projects for more inspiration!
