To create this textured, shiny card, grab some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink, a stencil, Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel, Rebekah Meir’s Mixed Media Foam and Art Tape.

To start, cover a piece of smooth heavy cardstock with Distress Oxide Ink.

Then, spritz with water to create the distressed splatters.

Lay the stencil over top and apply the Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel with a palette knife. Once it dries clear, lay the foil of your choice over that with the color facing you and run through a hot laminator. Once cool, carefully remove the foil to reveal the dimensional foiled design.

Cut the panel down to 4.25×5.5 and adhere with Therm O Web Memory Runner XL to the card base. To create the edges, tear a piece of Rebekah Meier Designs Mixed Media Art Tape and cover with Distress Oxide Ink. Then tear the tape in half tearing towards yourself to reveal a white torn edge

Die cut a sentiment from the Rebekah Meier Designs Foam Sheets, remove the backing and place on card front. Cut a piece of foil slightly larger than the greeting. remove the front adhesive protection from the foam and lay the foil on top. Burnish with your finger than remove the foil to reveal the sentiment.

To achieve even more dimension, repeat this process to stack two sentiments on top of each other.

For the second card, you will need Rebekah Meier’s Mixed Media Foam Sheets and new foil colors.

Use Distress Oxide and a stencil to apply inked feathers to a Kraft cardstock.

Die cut two feathers from Rebekah’s Mixed Media Adhesive Foam.

Remove the adhesive backing from one die cut feather and add to card. Flip the other over and remove that backing so that both feathers are not facing in the same direction.

Remove the top protective layer of both foam die cuts. Apply two different metallic foils to the feathers. rk tow rm mixed media cards-9803

Mixing metallics is very trendy right now! rk tow rm mixed media cards-9812I am no mixed media guru, but I loved playing around with Rebekah Meier’s new line! I hope you can see that you can use these fabulous new products on cards and you don’t have to be a mixed media artist to do so!
