Welcome back! I was feeling a little mixed media-ish this time around and, while re-organizing my stash, I emptied this wooden packaging for some embellishments I had, and it inspired me!

It was a blonde wooden tray so I started with painting it black using some acrylic paint.

In between paint layers, I cut pieces of gel prints down to sizes that fit in the tray wells and then added Transfer Gel Duo through various stencils and let that dry.

I added some blue green paint over the black and waited for the gel to dry to tacky.

I added some yummy gold Firelight Deco Foil over the tacky Transfer Gel DUO. The Stencil Pal is perfect for adding pressure to transfer the foil without heat.

I used Mixed Media Adhesive to adhere the foiled panels to the tray.

I added gold glitter ribbon around the edges using the adhesive and then after it was dry added more over the top.

And when that dried to tacky, I added more foil all around the outside and front edges of the tray.

During all the drying time, I was coloring in my images from the Alice Collection over at Miss Ink Stamps. I started adding the images to each of the windows with foam tape and liquid adhesive.

I kept my color palette simple … blues and golds with just a splash of pink, and — of course — a little Deco Foil wherever possible.

Check out the little steam coming off of the teacup cut from Deco Foil foiled toner paper.

That’s me for today! I hope you enjoyed it and wishing you inspiration wherever you can find it!
