AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoilBirthdayWishesCard2Today’s note card is inspired by the look and feel of a worn patchwork quilt, accented with a touch of glamorous Rose Gold iCraft® Deco Foil™ for a fun shabby chic design. This patchwork design is so easy to create, and looks great in any number of color combos and prints, and is a wonderful background for cards for any occasion.

To create this card, begin by cutting, punching, or die cutting some small squares from a variety of patterned papers. I made an easy 9-square block using paper cut to 1.25″ square, for my petite 4×4 card base. Adhere the squares onto a piece of scrap paper that is the same size as your block, and then emboss the panel using your favorite embossing folder. Lightly sand and ink the raised embossed area to really bring out all the detail. Adhere the embossed panel onto a larger piece of contrasting patterned paper to frame it out.

Stamp a cupcake image once onto kraft cardstock and a second time onto watercolor paper. Add color to the frosting portion using Distress Ink and a wet paintbrush. Fussy cut the bottom wrapper portion out of the kraft cardstock and the frosting portion out of the watercolor paper. Using the back end of the paintbrush, dip the brush into the iCraft® Deco Foil™ Adhesive, and randomly apply the adhesive onto the cupcake wrapper. Allow the adhesive to dry completely, until the adhesive feels tacky, but no glue comes away on your hand. Cut a small strip of iCraft® Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheet, and press the foil down into the adhesive, with the silver side down and the colored side up. Press against the back of the Deco Foil, then peel it up and press it down onto another area until the entire wrapper is covered.

Adhere the two pieces together, and check out your awesome cupcake!

AudreyPettit Thermoweb DecoFoilBirthdayWishesCard3Stamp a sentiment onto a strip of kraft cardstock to add to the bottom of the card. Tie ribbon around the card base. Then adhere the cupcake using Therm O Web Tape Runner XL at the bottom, and a bit of 3D Foam Adhesive Squares at the top, for some fun dimension. Cover the frosting with Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen. Stamp, color, and fussy cut some cherries. Coat with Glossy Accents, and add to the cupcake when dry using Zots™ adhesive dots.
