It seems like once Halloween is over, time just has a way of gathering momentum and zipping by. The holidays will be here before we know it. And if you are already feeling short on time, and are looking for a quick and easy holiday gift giving idea, then you are going to love this sweet and simple snowman frame. This no-sew fabric home decor project has the look of a boutique gift without the high-end cost, and better yet, can be made in under 15 minutes.

Let’s take a closer look.

Project Instructions:

To begin, remove the glass from a small desk frame. I like to keep my eye out for simple frames at my local thrift store. They are usually super inexpensive and readily available, and a 3″x5″ size like this is perfect for gift giving.

Cut a piece of patterned paper to fit the inside of your frame. Trace a circle onto Stitch n’ Sew™ Fleece using a round object from around the house. You want a size that is about as big as your frame opening. Cut out the fleece circle.

Before you adhere the snowman head to the frame, stitch a curved mouth using two strands of black embroidery floss. Then cover 3/4 of the back of the fleece circle with strips of Peel n’ Stick Fabric Fuse™ Tape. Since part of the head hangs off the edge of the frame, and will be cut off, there’s no reason to add adhesive to the entire shape. Just be sure to add the adhesive to the side with the stitched mouth, as you don’t want to cut that portion off.

Remove the protective liner from the Fabric Fuse™ Tape, and adhere the snowman head to the left side of the patterned paper backing, making sure to allow part of the head to hang off the edge. Trim the excess fleece away.

Cut a carrot nose from orange fabric, and thread two black buttons with floss. Adhere the face pieces to the snowman head using Fabric Fuse™ Liquid Adhesive.

Die cut a small snowflake from white cardstock, and adhere it to the bottom right side of the patterned paper. Then add a sentiment to the top right, overlapping the snowflake. You can use a coordinating die cut or journaling block, like I did here, or quickly stamp or print a greeting.

And then finally, finish off with a few sequins for some sparkle and shine. The Fabric Fuse™ Liquid Adhesive is perfect for adhering sequins.
