This week the Therm O Web team will be featuring the beautiful papers in DCWV’s Letterpress paper pad in home decor projects. I have a really easy way for you to repurpose pieces to give your space a quick update that doesn’t break the bank.
In addition to the items you want to “upcycle”, you will need papers and iCraft adhesive. This project uses a very inexpensive green frame from IKEA and an old sponge painted vase I made in a ceramics class sometime in the early 90’s.
The papers in the Letterpress pad are all debossed with various images and patterns, which gives the finished home decor pieces more of an upscale feel. Don’t you love the detail on these dandelion images?
This project really could not be easier. Simply cover the item you want to alter with iCraft tape or sheets,
cut paper to fit,
remove the protective liner from the iCraft and adhere.
In no time at all you will have a few “new” accent pieces for your home. I love how easy it is to swap out different colors – this project would be easy to recreate on a seasonal basis… or even just re-cover the same pieces over and over, as needed. Now if only it was that easy to update my old sofa! And in case you are wondering, yes… that is a bunch of cilantro in the vase… I didn’t have any flowers in the yard that looked good and had no time to run to the store, so this is all I could do for a green plant on short notice. 🙂
