How to Preserve Leaves by Rebekah Meier
I found a way to preserve leaves and flowers I collect every fall. Follow along and I will show you how I used Mixed Media Foam Sheets to permanently save them. I made a trio of leaf squares of different varieties.
Here a just a sample of my leaves. The “raggy” the better. I like them to have character!
How to Preserve Fall Leaves Instructions:
Peel off one side of the Foam Sheets film to reveal a very sticky material.
Apply one coat of crackle glaze onto leaf and background. Let dry completely.
I used a variety of paints and applied the color with a cosmetic sponge.
Once paints are applied, add a coat of satin varnish to seal the project.
For the maple leaf, I also incorporated my Rosetta stencil from The Crafters Workshop.
Simply apply molding paste through the stencil before applying the crackle glaze.
