I started this layout by pulling out a sheet of textured gray Bazzill cardstock and added some white gesso with a brush, creating a spot for my title and photos to sit on. I then splattered various distress ink sprays and Nuvo mists on the gesso and set it aside to dry. I went to work on cutting some large letters for my title using my electronic cutting machine for the P and L and I used my Echo Park nesting stitched circle dies along with my manual die cutting machine for the O’s.

Next, I pulled out some Gina K Turquoise Sea Glitter Glitz gel, stencil pal, some pixie tape and my stencil from the card kit to create a summery background on a sheet of the orange patterned paper from my Echo Park Pool Party kit. I used the pixie tape to hold my stencil in place as I applied the glitz gel with the stencil pal which provides a very smooth application. I then cut that out with the stitched circle die to make it round for one of my O’s, and continued making the palm trees by stamping on white cardstock with green bundled sage distress ink and then fussy cutting that out. I stamped just the tree trunks again with brown gathered twigs distress ink and then used the coordinating dies from the kit to cut the trunks on my die cutting machine. I used the black toner card fronts and ran them through my laminator with a sheets of the turquoise sea and grass green foils. I sandwiched them between a craft and carrier sheet with color side of foil up and then die cut an “O” from the blue and some palm leaves from the green. I adhered all that together with another O I cut from patterned paper with my tape runner, easy tear tape, and bling size zots. While I had my die cutting machine out, I stamped some letters with black archival ink and die cut them from Elle’s Studio dies/stamp set for my “pals” word.

I loved the ship wheel from the stamp set in this kit so I stamped it with some versamark ink on white cardstock and then sprinkled black glitter embossing powder and heated it up with my heat gun to make it shimmer. Then I fussy cut it out and tucked it around my photo along with some other embellishments from the Pool Party kit by Echo Park and a few things from Simple Stories Sunkissed collection.

I finished this off by adding a few more embellishments with the UltraBond liquid adhesive and 3D foam squares and stamped a bunch of leaves across the top of my page with speckled egg and uncharted mariner distress inks. The speckled egg didn’t show up so well after it dried so I was glad I used two colors. I then stamped my date and some birds onto my layout with black archival ink. I love how this layout came together with the card kit for a nice summery feel! Be sure to grab the kit with the link to the shop above!
