Picture Perfect
by Heather Collins
I love taking picture, capturing the perfect memories, the memory that will last a lifetime. I remember when you had to take your film; only 24 or 36 images, and drop them off to be developed. Instant cameras allowed one to get an instant picture and they have been released for my child to get one. So when I found this cutting die, I knew it would be the perfect way to capture and journal a special trip.
To start this project I took a few pieces of “Brutus Monroe Not Your Mama Cardstock” and attached torn collage pieces from “49th and Market Krafty Garden Fabric Tape Roll Assortment” and “Tim Holts Idea-ology Entomology Collage Paper” and attached them using “iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive”.
Next I used a ton of different product to create an unique few pieces of papers. These items included: “Brutus Monroe’s Chroma Mist | Creamy Pastel Shimmers Bundle”, “Posca Paint Markers”, assorted Paints, Brushes and odd shaped items, including a nerf bullet and a leftover jello container. I made sure to use a heat gun to dry everything.
Next I attached a piece of “iCraft Easy-Cut Adhesive Sheets” to piece of “Deco Foil Color Harmony Transfer Foil Multi-Pack, Shades of Orange and Shades of Red” along with “Deco Foil Plus Paper, Black Velvet”. I cut out several instant camera pieces from all of these along with blanks from the “Brutus Monroe Not Your Mama Cardstock” and the painted and back cover of my booklet from the painted pieces I created.
To put it all together I cut a piece of cardstock 2″x11″ and scored 1″, then every 1/2″; enough to have 4 inside pages, then 1″. Then I cut at an angel the inside peaks of the binding that I had used “iCraft Easy-Tear Tape” on. I had painted inside pages of the book in a lighter style then the front cover. And glued everything together using “iCraft UltraBond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive”.
Lastly to finish off the project I used “Deco Foil Adhesive Transfer Designs by Brutus Monroe – Dazzling Doodles” and rubbed “Deco Foil Color Harmony Transfer Foil Multi-Pack, Shades of Orange and Shades of Red”. I attached a titled tile piece of ephemera on the spine of the memory booklet I made. I can’t wait to use this after a special trip, it was so fun and easy to make.
