Need a fun project for a table decoration?! Katrina on the blog today to show you how to make these adorable bottle rockets to use as a centerpiece for your 4th of July holiday table. These would also be very easy for the kids to jump in and help make.
We are playing along with Echo Park this week, I and received the Getaway collection kit to work with. The reds and blues in the kit reminded me of a vintage 4th of July celebration, so I went with it!
Therm O Web Supplies:
Therm O Web iCraft Adhesive™ Tape 1/4 inch
Therm O Web Zots™ Singles-Medium
Therm O Web 3D White Foam Squares-1/2 inch
Therm O Web Sticky Tape Mini Runner
Other Supplies: Ribbon-Unknown; Easter Grass-Hobby Lobby; Silhouette Cameo; Punch-EK Success; Craft Sticks; Jar for display
Gather your supplies
Cut a variety of pattern paper at 4.5 inches by 6 inches for the rocket tubes.
Place iCraft Adhesive™ Tape on on end of the 4.5 inch side and roll inward.
To close tube, place another strip of the iCraft Tape Adhesive™ on the opposite end and seal.
Create the cap of the bottle rocket by punching a 3 inch circle. Cut halfway thru circle and add a Zots™ Single in Medium size.
Bring edge without the Zot™, over the top of the edge with the Zot™ creating a hat effect.
Using another strip of iCraft Tape Adhesive™, run it around the top of the tube making sure that it is only half on the top and half off. This will allow you to adhere the cap onto the top of the tube.
Using the iCraft Tape Adhesive™ again, add some to a craft stick and then adhere the stick to the inside of your tube where the seam is. This will be the back of your rocket.
Cut 1/4 inch x 12 inch strip of pattern paper to make your banners/flames out of. Then cut 2 at 2 inches and 1 at 3 inches off the 12 inch strip. Cut notches and then adhere on top of each other with your Sticky Tape Mini Runner. Use a Zot™ to attach the cluster to the inside of your rocket on the front side, opposite of the craft stick.
Assemble the rest of the rockets and arrange in a container of your choice. Decorate the container using die cuts, ribbon and stickers.
Use a variety of patterns and colors to suit your theme. These would be adorable in bright summer colors also!
Thanks for stopping by the ThermOWeb blog today. Have a fun and safe 4th of July!
