One of my favorite icons of the fall season is pumpkins. Real pumpkins, decorative pumpkins, pumpkin spice….. you name it, I adore it all. This year, I tried my hand at a no-sew, no-measure, no-fuss pumpkin project, and love how quick and easy it was to create some simple fabric pumpkins using just a few supplies I already had at hand. These are truly so fun and easy and would make a great project to do with the kids. And you can whip up a whole bunch of these in no time at all. Let’s take a closer look.
No-Sew Harvest Pumpkin Instructions:
Gather your supplies. You can use any fabric that you wish for these, from printed cotton to recycled sweaters or denim. I chose an old burlap sack for mine. You will also need some rubber bands, twine, sticks, and polyfill stuffing.
Cut a rectangular or square panel of fabric. Doesn’t matter what size or shape. These truly are no-fuss. Place a strip of Therm O Web’s PeelnStick Fabric Fuse Tape along one edge. I like to burnish the tape with the back of a spoon, or even just the tip of my fingernail, to really press it into the fibers of the fabric.
Peel off the protective liner from the tape. Roll the fabric into a tube, and secure the ends of the fabric together at the tape line.
Pinch one end of the tube together, and secure it with a rubber band.
Now turn the tube right-side-out, and fill the pouch with stuffing.
Pinch the top of the pouch together. Tuck a stick into the opening, and then secure the top with a second rubber band.
Wrap twine around the stem of the pumpkin to hide the rubber band. And if you’d like to add some vine-like curls around the ends of the twine, simply smear the twine with a bit of Fabric Fuse Liquid Adhesive, and then wrap the twine around a straw, pencil, or pen until the adhesive dries. Then simply remove the pen.
For a final decorative touch, add a fall tag or some silk leaves or berries. Whatever you have on hand. The liquid Fabric Fuse adhesive will hold all your embellishments in place.
There you have it! Quick and easy no-sew harvest pumpkins!

November 11, 2017 at 2:29 pm (7 years ago)Is there any way to remove the PeelnStick tape once it’s put on? I made a project and taped on some decorations made of paper, cloth and other things but I want to re-position them. Is it possible?
