Hello Therm O Web fans! It’s Juliana here and today I’m sharing a card I created for Therm O Web using the brand new Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel. This new product will beautifully add a touch of dimension to all your foiled projects, and I’m pretty sure you are going to love it!
Deco Foil Transfer Gel for Added Dimension
To create my card, I used the Transfer Gel with our Amethyst Watercolor Deco Foil and a beautiful Penny Black stencil.
Therm O Web Supplies:
Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel – Coming Soon!
Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheet – Amethyst Watercolor
iCraft® Easy-Tear Tape 1/2″
12″ Foil Laminator
Here are the steps to follow when working with the Transfer Gel:
1. Begin with a piece of watercolor paper or other paper suitable for use with mixed media type mediums.
2. Tape the paper to your surface using a repositionable tape.
3. Tape the stencil in place on top of the paper with the same type of tape.
4. Use a palette knife or similar tool to apply Deco Foil™ Stencil Gel over the stencil.
5. Remove excess gel by gently pulling knife flat across surface.
6. Return any excess gel to the jar.
7. Make sure you clean your stencil immediately with cold water, a drop of dish soap and gentle finger scrubbing.
8. Let the gel dry at least 1 hour or until the gel has become completely clear.
9. Cover the stenciled design with Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheet, place inside a folded piece of parchment paper and run it through a preheated hot laminator.
10.Let cool slightly and gently peel away the transfer sheet to reveal your beautifully foiled design.
I went with a clean and simple design for this card because I wanted to keep the focus on the large, floral design. To complete the card, I stamped a simple sentiment. I then adhered the card front to a piece of coordinating cardstock and then to the card base using Therm O Web’s iCraft® Easy-Tear Tape.
I hope you enjoyed learning more about Therm O Web’s new Deco Foil™ Transfer Gel. We can’t wait to see what you all create with it!
HUGS!
Juliana

February 21, 2017 at 3:03 am (8 years ago)Ohhh, need to get me some of this gel! Course…will make me want more stencils too, but can use it with the ones I have for now. LOL Love the dimension it will give my cards too! Now if you can just come up with something we can use with our stamps, so we can foil those designs, I’ll be REALLY happy!
Can not WAIT to be able to get my hands on Gina’s foil mates either, always love her designs…and loved her foil mates she put out herself, but looks like she outdid herself with the designs she did for you…not to mention the foils I’ve seen so far in her line too!

February 27, 2017 at 12:46 pm (8 years ago)Hi..our Deco Foil Transfer Gel does need heat to transfer to the Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. We recommend a laminator for best results. Many thanks!

June 17, 2019 at 8:34 am (5 years ago)Hi…there are many ways to use the negative. You can simply apply to a card as a background, or use our Deco Foil Toner Sheets and apply, run through a laminator and then you’ll have an entirely new background.
