Hello, Erin here with you today! Hope you have been enjoying these fabulous projects from Amanda Carestio’s darling Never Been Stitched Book! As my stitching abilities are literally only on paper, I was very excited at the opportunity to create a “low sew” project! Given we have an amazing team of gifted sew-ers in our Therm O Web family, this was quite the task!
Therm O Web Supplies:
Spray n Bond® Fusible Adhesive
Other Supplies:
Felt
Sewing Machine
Straight pins
Thread
Craft designer: Cynthia Shaffer
Instructions for the cozy:
1. Cut the felt rectangle to measure 6 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches.
2. Fold the panel in half lengthwise and mark the half-way point on both sides with pins.
3. Fold the bottom portion up and overlap the pinned halfway point by 1/4 in.
4. Fold the top portion down and overlap the bottom portion by 1/4 in.
5. Stitch the short side edges closed with 1/2 in. seam allowance.
6. Trim all four corners at an angle.
7. Turn the cozy right side out. Use a straight pin to pull the 4 corners out.
Instructions for the face:
1. Using the templates provided in the book and scraps of felt, cut out all parts needed to assemble the monster face.
2. Make a note of which pieces need to be adhered first, second, and so on. Keep in mind that some pieces are adhered to the bottom portion of the cozy.
3. Using an index card, mask off sections of the felt pieces that you don’t want adhesive on. Spray the felt pieces and adhere them to the cozy.
Thank you for stopping by and making Therm O Web a part of your creative day!
