Hi there. Alice here today with an anniversary card inspired by a modern take on a traditional wedding ring quilt pattern. The colors of cream and white with metallic gold highlights create a palette that works for anniversary or wedding cards – just swap out the sentiment.
Create a cream card base and adhere multiple quilt squares die cut from white cardstock. Trim the overhang. Applying a sheet of iCraft® Easy-Cut adhesive to the back of the white cardstock before die cutting makes it easy to adhere – helpful when you have a die cut with lots of detail, such as this one.
Brush some of the negative die cut pieces with Deco Foil™ liquid adhesive. When dry the adhesive will feel tacky to the touch. Place a sheet of Deco Foil™ on top of the adhesive metallic side up and rub with your finger or burnishing tool. Peel off the foil and adhere the pieces to the card, as shown.
Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment on white cardstock. Place sheet of the iCraft® Deco Foil™ in Gold over the embossed image and run it through a laminator without using a carrier sheet. Note: every laminator is different – test first to see whether a carrier sheet is needed with your machine.
Remove foil and trim into banner shape. Mat with cream cardstock and adhere to card using foam squares.
The little bit of gold Deco Foil™ really makes a big impact! It’s a challenge to capture the full effect of the metallic finish in a photograph.
