Hey there! Jen here, and I want to show you a fun way to use some of the new Mixed Media products from Therm O Web today. I am a scrapbooker who dabbles in mixed media, but I don’t usually get too crazy. This canvas was the perfect project for me because it keeps things bright, airy, and fun, but still has that artsy vibe.
You just need a few things to get started:
Therm O Web Supplies:
- iCraft® Mixed Media Adhesive
- iCraft® Mixed Media Sheets – Lightweight
- iCraft® Mixed Media Sheets – Heavyweight
- Deco Foil™ Transfer Sheets – Summer Rainbow
Other supplies:
- 8×8 Canvas from Dick Blick
- Acrylic Paint
- Word Die
- Watercolors
- Paintbrush
- Needle + Thread
Project Instructions:
I started by adding some watered-down acrylic paint to the background and tilting the canvas to move the paint around. I hand-cut two hearts from the Heavyweight Mixed Media Sheets, painted them with Mixed Media Adhesive, and applied the foil using pressure from my hands. I then hand-stitched the two hearts together, stuffing it with the leftover bits of Heavyweight Mixed Media Sheets.
I die-cut the word “love” from the Lightweight Mixed Media Sheets four times, watercolored one of them, and put them all together using some of the Mixed Media Adhesive.
I hope you’ll give this fun technique a try! I put together a video tutorial that you can watch below.
