Hello!  Welcome back!  I have a fun mixed media project for you today!  I’ve been re-organizing my craft room and came across some bottles I’d curated a while ago and forgot about.  I thought it would be fun to dress one up with some foil!

I started by washing and drying the bottle to get any residue and dust off of it and then used a paint brush to add some Transfer Gel Duo to the outside and set it aside to dry to tacky.  I find depending on the thickness you may need to wait a couple hours to hit the right amount of tackiness.  Often I’ll test a small area to be sure it’s not still too sticky.

Once the bottle was tacky, I took a sheet of foil and applied really hard pressure to transfer the foil.  This method won’t get a solid transfer, but that’s not what I wanted anyway!  I love a more distressed look.  I kept at it until I was happy with the coverage.

Next I added some deco foil to a black toner card front using heat from my Fuse foiling machine.

Then I die cut some pieces to add to the bottle.

Before adding the die cut pieces, I sprayed the entire bottle with some Glitter Dust spray … because of course!  And while it was still tacky, I used it to adhere the pieces to the front of the bottle.  Once it was adhered well, I added more Glitter Dust Spray.

I chose a Lion pin from my costume jewelry that I never wear and cut off the back hardware.  Then I added some Transfer Gel to the pin so I could add a little extra sparkle.

And again, added some foil!

I adhered my jewelry piece with some foam tape (because it had a large well rather than a solid backing) and added some Mixed Media Adhesive for extra strength.  And in the end, another overall spray with some Glitter Dust.

I love it!… and now that I’m looking at that planter, I’m thinking it might need a little foil…lol!

That’s me for today!  Thanks for stopping!  What will you add foil to??
