It’s February, love is in the air. Sure I love my husband, kids, family, friends…. but what I am really talking about is love for new paper crafting products just released at the CHA Winter Show! Therm O Web, which you may have read on this blog already, released two very cool new innovative products: iCraft Adhesive and Glitter Dust Spray.
You can read all about their benefits here: New from Therm O Web! CHA 2012 Sneak Peeks!
Here’s another sample to get your ideas flowing:
Like Alice, I like to use the iCraft Adhesive in my die cut machines. It cuts so cleanly and perfectly, you can’t go wrong. I created the glitter grid background with iCraft in my Silhouette, peeled off the backing, placed it on the patterned paper, peeled off the second liner, and then added glitter. The “thank you” was also created with iCraft. I adhered the iCraft to the cardstock before I ran it through the Silhouette. I used Glitter Dust on the die cut flower and circles. The Glitter Dust spray won’t wrinkle your paper. I have used it on thin book paper and my flowers held their shape perfectly.
And for a bonus photo technique… My dear friend and photographer, Angela Schlater, takes our family photos each summer. She likes to include some shots with tilted angles, like so:
I decided to play with the photo tilt on this layout. I chose a patterned paper with a right angle diamond pattern. I physically turned my photo 45 degrees to line up with the diamond, therefore placing the photo subject vertical. The effect was different from anything I have tried before and it is eye-catching. Try it with your photos. If you don’t have a photo like that, take your camera and tilt it 45 degrees and snap away!
This layout uses Sticky Strip Runner (general paper to paper adhering), Super Tape (1/4″ tape for ribbon, sheets cut into 2″ circle for flower), Super Stik glue stick (tiny pink photo border), and Zots (die cuts and chipboard alpha sticker reinforcement).
