I started this layout by pulling out a sheet of white cardstock and one of the new Deco Foil Card Front Toner Sheets, which is one of the same ones I’ve used in my last layout. I wanted to show you another way to use them other than cutting them apart with dies and coloring them with distress inks. This time, I’ve left it white, and ran through my hot laminator with some copper Deco Foil on top between a craft and carrier sheet to transfer the copper colored foil to the toner card front. I then ripped it in half, and adhered to another piece of patterned paper I ripped vertically with some easy tear tape. This created a fun vertical design down the left side of my page. I ruffed up the edges using my fingers to add some texture.
How beautiful is that copper shimmer on those toner sheets? I just love how those look on my layout! I’ve chosen to lift a layout by Jana McCarthy, following the same type of design for mine. I used papers, alphas, and embellishments from my Hip Kit Club Kits and cut down one of the patterned papers into a tag shape to place behind my photo. I used my tag dies from Elle’s Studio. I layered my photo using smooth white card stock and adhering behind my photo with my Memory Tape Runner.
Next, I pulled out my Thankful Leaves stamp and dies set by Gina K Designs and stamped some leaves onto white cardstock with distress oxides and then cut them out with my manual die cutting machine using the coordinating dies. They came out so beautiful! I then tucked them in alongside my photo on a few sides with some UltraBond Liquid Glue. I like the 2oz size. It fits nicely in your hand and dries clear!
I added some thread tucked in behind my embellishments using the UltraBond Liquid glue as well and added a few more embellishments from my Hip Kit. I then went to work on my title using some alphas from an older Hip Kit.
I added some splatters using some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and Lavender Nuvo Shimmer Spray. I just love how this one turned out! I have a process video the Thermoweb YouTube channel if you’d like to see how this came together.
Thank you for being here today and I hope I was able to inspire you to create!
