Hello, my crafty friends! I wanted to share my oh so plush Halloween cards with you! I love that Therm O Web carries so many different colors of plush paper! What is plush paper? Plush papers add a velvet-like texture to any project and offer unlimited options when using your favorite dies, stamps, and embossing folders. Simply use them like you would any specialty cardstock. Plush Papers can also be transferred using the Fuse Foiling Gel and stencils. I used them with my dies, because I love the surprise texture and the look that it gives my cards! Gina K Designs just came out with White and Black plush packs! Plus, I used the new Brutus Monroe Deco Foil Overlays Foil in Magical Halo! eeekkkkk!

Both of my cards were made in a similar way, but there is one extra step that I did with my first card, and that is I used the new Brutus Monroe Overlay Foil in Magical Halo! I will explain to you how to use those in a bit! The die set that I used is from Popsiclesticks called “Build a Bu Die Set “. The Bu’s are all the rage, so we had to make them plush and dressed for Halloween! The first one is a witch, which works great with our Deco Foil Toner Card Front – Haunted with the witch hat design! I paired the toner card with Gina K’s Fancy Foil – Dazzing Orange, placed it in a carrier sheet ( always use a carrier sheet) and ran it through the Fuse Foiling System on level 4.

When it was finished, I peeled off the foil and then paired the foil I just peeled off with a White Poly-Glaze Foiling Sheet from Gina K. Designs and ran those through the Fuse Foiling System on level 4. The picture below shows the supplies you can use for the second step. As you can see in this picture, a solid black toner card was used instead of the white Poly-Glaze sheet. (Yes! I did not take a picture, and I am personally out of the witches’ hats panel to re-create it! However, I just found the orange witch hats, they flew across the room on the floor underneath a cart, Lol!!) You do not always have to perform the second step and just save the foil in case you would want to use it the future (I have mine stored in a stamp/die holder)! With one toner card front, you can get two totally different looks! But wait!! There is a step three!

For the third step, I paired my solid orange and white, witches hat card front and a sheet from the New Deco Foil Brutus Monroe Overlay Foil in Magical Halo (now in 3 different overlays). I place both of them in a carrier sheet and ran it through the Fuse Foiling System on level 3!

As you can see in the background, with the Dazzling Orange, the Magical Halo foil gives this AMAZING, shiny glow to the whole card!

After my base is done, it’s time to die cut! You treat plush paper like you would any specialty paper! For his body, I used Pink Carnation and Think Pink! I like to do all my die cutting at one time, so I do not lose any pieces! When I assembled all the pieces together, I use either Ultra Bond glue or if it needs to be raised, for dimension, I would use 3D foam squares. I do the same for the “candies”, but just in smaller sizes. I already had some of those pieces of “candy,” but I also made more with cellophane, spray glue, and a shaker bead!

The last thing I need to put on the card is the sentiment! I absolutely love the Deco Foil Toner Sentiments – Autumn Vibes! You can foil them any color, however with both of these cards, I wanted them to remain black!

Whew! I think that is it for the first card! I will not keep you that much longer, like I had previously mentioned, the cards are mostly made the same!

My second Bu wanted to dress up like the famous mouse! For the background, I use the other design in the Deco Foil Toner Card Front – Haunted! I paired it with Deco Foil Mystic Rainbow Transfer Foil Sheets. I placed them in a carrier sheet (shiny side up) and ran them through the Fuse Foiling System on level 4.

I did not do anything else to the background other than place a spider’s web in the corner!

I then die cut the Blue Sky and Teal Waters plush papers for the Bu mouse! I used Sunshine Yellow, Teal Waters, Pink Carnation and Think Pink for the mouse balloons and bow! I used Gina K’s New Black Velvet Plush Papers for the headband and mouse ears! Oh, and for his lollipop, I used Orange Glow!

I assembled the card in the same way and used iCraft Ultra Bond Glue and 3D Foam Squares. The glue and the foam squares work great with the plush papers!
The plush papers (in every color) are a must-have for every craft room, exactly like all of our foil lines!
I had so much fun using the plush papers and toner card fronts to make these cards come alive with texture and detail! I hope you feel inspired to use the plush papers, card fronts and foils in your next creative project! We would love to see your work, so make sure to share using the hashtag #Decofoil or #ThermOWeb! Have an awesome, crafty day!
