Hey, all! It’s Lynnea sharing a shiny patriotic themed card! I can’t believe it’s almost the 4th of July (!!!) and that calls for all things red, white, and blue – and a touch of glitter doesn’t hurt either!

I LOVE using the 6×6 Easy Cut Adhesive Sheets to cover my card bases with double-sided adhesive, but since they are larger than my card front I often have strips of the adhesive leftover. I thought I would put those small strips to good use and create a striped foiled background! I cut multiple strips – some that are 3/4″ and some that are 1/2″. I started by adding one of the 3/4″ strips of Easy Cut Adhesive to my card and burnished it on with a bone folder to make sure it has fully adhered to my card. I removed the top layer of adhesive backing and pressed on some Radiant Red Gina K Designs Fancy Foil. I love that this foil has larger chunks of glitter! I added 1/2″ strips of the Easy Cut Adhesive on either side of the Radiant Red foil and added Aqua Deco Foil on top of that. I kept alternating strips of Radiant Red and Aqua foils until my whole background panel was covered.

I wanted to have some shiny fireworks on top of my foiled background, so I used a fireworks stencil from The Hedgehog Hollow. I sprayed the back of my stencil with Pixie Spray and pressed the stencil onto my background. I used my Stencil Pal and added a thick layer of White Pearl Deco Foil Metallix Gel over the stencil. You could definitely stop here – the White Pearl Metallix Gel is GORGEOUS on its own – super shiny and adds tons of dimension to the background – but I decided to go a little further! I removed my stencil and before the Metallix Gel had time to dry I sprinkled on some Distress Glitter. My FAVORITE fireworks are the ones that go up in the sky and then burst with the crackly glitter at the end. That was my inspiration for this card! I tapped off the excess glitter and then once the Metallix Gel had time to dry I rubbed off any remaining glitter. I had little bits of glitter stick to the background – but the extra sparkle is never a bad thing!

I stamped a sentiment from the Happy Everything stamp set from Lawn Fawn onto white cardstock and added the banner onto my card using Gina K Designs White Foam Squares. I also added some iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive to the back of my foam squares – this makes sure that the foam squares will adhere to my textured background. Check out my video below!

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I hope you love this shiny 4th of July card! See you next time!
