Join us all this week as we celebrate that Land That We Love! From celebrating the city you live in, the country or just things about the land you enjoy. Camping, visiting the beach and so much more. We have much to be thankful for and this week is all about the Land That We Love!
Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by. It’s Deb here with you today to share a celebratory card for Land That I Love week here on Therm O Web’s blog. Canada Day Card Instructions
Cut a piece of white cardstock to a flag shape and paint the ends red and middle section white.
Deco Foil Adhesive Pen
Paint the chipboard maple leaf with red paint, let dry thoroughly, and then cover the whole surface with the Deco Foil Adhesive Pen. Let the adhesive dry till tacky (just takes a couple of minutes) then apply a piece of Red Deco Foil over the leaf and burnish well with a soft cloth. Remove the foil backing paper to reveal your foiled maple leaf.
Paint the moose and the tree chipboard pieces with acrylic paint.
Cover a couple of pieces of white cardstock with iCraft Easy-Cut Adhesive. Peel off the adhesive backing paper and apply the Red Deco Foil to one piece and the Opal Deco Foil to the other. Die-cut the sentiment with the Alphanumeric dies, alternating the letters in red and opal.
Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive
Print out the vintage map of Canada image on your computer and apply the painted flag to the map, adhering it in place with your Memory XL Tape Runner. Center the word ‘happy’ over the flag and adhere the letters in place with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive.
Adhere ‘Canada Day’ underneath the flag with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive and then trim the edges of the background map image to size as shown.
Adhere the foiled maple leaf to the center white panel of the flag and the moose and the tree to the red panels with iCraft Ultra Bond Adhesive.
Mount the whole assembly to a kraft card blank with iCraft Easy-Tear Adhesive tape and you are done!
If you are not Canadian, you can easily adapt this design to celebrate the land that you love. Just paint your flag (or print out a copy if you prefer), add some chipboard pieces or die-cuts of images that represent your country, and add a sentiment that celebrates your home, embellishing the card with Deco Foil Transfer Sheets. I hope that I’ve given you some ideas on how to celebrate the land that you love, where ever that may be. Thanks as always for stopping by and happy creating,
Deb xo
