Hi everyone Kim Lapacek here from Persimon Dreams,
I’m sharing with a project that’s not the norm for me. How can you make some unique “Kindness Rocks” using Deco Foil? Well – you’re about to find out! Grab some supplies, maybe a kid or two as this is very kid friendly and get busy making kindness “ROCK”!
Supplies:
- Rocks – the smoother they are, the easier it is to get the DecoFoils to adhere
- Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive
- Deco Foil Transfer Sheets (Silver Stars and Summer Rainbow)
- Acrylic Paint & brush (optional)
Instructions to make the Decofoil Kindness Rocks
Take the rocks you’d like to foil and Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive and set them out.
Rub a decent layer of Fabric Fuse Liquid Adhesive on the surface of the rock. Let the Fabric Fuse Liquid Adhesive sit for about four hours (I tested longer and shorter time periods and felt that the four hours led to the best results).
After four hours, cover the fused rocks with pieces of Deco Foil that covers the rock completely. Rub the foil down and let the rock sit overnight to dry 100%.
Come back the next day and peel the Deco Foil off the rocks.
At this point you could choose to add a saying onto the rock. I’ve seen decorated rocks and rocks with sayings hidden all around.
I used some white outdoor paint I had leftover from the barn quilt I recently painted to paint “Be Kind” onto this rainbow Deco Foil paver chunk.
Deco Foiling rocks is a ton of fun! Before I knew it I had quite the collection of fun rocks to spread out in my apple orchard for customers to find, collect and re-hide for others to find!
