To make this project, you will need to download the quilt block pattern from Thermoweb’s Crafting Facebook page called Therm O Web Craft Room. There you will find not only this fun quilt block pattern but also other FREE blocks that are published monthly as part of a block-of-the-month feature. This pattern is from the May 2023 Block of the Month. This quilt block has the option for traditional piecing OR foundation paper piecing!
Just Roll with It
Supplies:
- Cinnamon Roll Quilt Block Pattern (found in the files section)
- Just Roll with It PDF Pattern
- (1) 12 1/2″ Cinnamon Roll Quilt Block
- (2) 2 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ Background Fabric
- 2) 10 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ Background Fabric
- (1) 18″ x 34″ StitchnSew Fleece
- (1) 19″ x 35″ Backing Fabric
- (2) 5″ Squares for corner hangers
- 108″ Binding
- Fabric for Letters and icing
- HeatnBond Lite for Letters and icing
- SpraynBond Basting Spray
- Oliso Iron
- Basic Sewing Notions
- Olfa rotary cutter and folding mat
Instructions:
Begin by…
Make the 12 1/2″ Cinnamon Roll quilt block. Then add the (2) 2.5″ x 12.5″ side panels.
Next…
Add the top and bottom panels to the quilt block. Next, trace the letters onto the HeatnBond Lite. Then, fuse the HeatnBond Lite to the fabric being used for the lettering.
Then…
Cut out the letters and prepare to fuse them to your project. Once the letters are fused, applique using your preferred method. Next, fuse HeatnBond Lite to the frosting fabric. Free draw wavy lines and cut them out. Fuse to your project and applique.
Next…
Once everything is appliques, baste your top, batting and backing together using SpraynBond Basting Spray. Quilt as desired and trim the edges. Fold the 5″ hangers in half along the diagonal. Press. Pin to the back top corners of the quilt.
Finally…
Bind the quilt using your preferred method.
