It is almost Halloween time and I couldn’t be more excited…I love Halloween! Being creative when using ThermOWeb’s amazing products makes it so easy to get into the Halloween spirit of decorating.

My favorite applique adhesive, Heat n Bond Lite Iron-on Adhesive, made sewing “Just A Little Wicked” a fun Halloween project. The mini quilt measures 12″ x 15″ when finished.

This mini quilt is so easy to put together, especially using my favorite ThermOWeb products.

It wouldn’t be Halloween without a witch’s hat and spider, would it!

Of course, there had to be a potion bottle and a creepy snake.

HeatnBond Light for Stability

Ironing Heat n Bond Light Weight Non-Woven Interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric before adding applique designs gives it stability when sewing, especially when sewing small pieces.

Trace your applique designs on the Heat n Bond Lite Iron-on Adhesive or print it on Heat n Bond Lite EZ Print Sheets. The EZ Print Sheets can be used in an inkjet printer and there’s no tracing!

Once you cut out your applique designs, peeling off the back is a breeze…no scoring the paper to remove it!

Iron the applique design adhesive side down to the right side of the fabric.

Sewing around the edges of the applique designs with a blanket stitch, straight stitch, or zig-zag stitch will hold the fabric in place even when washed. Use black thread for all of the stitching or use threads that match the fabrics. Either way can really accentuate your designs.

Before quilting, hand or machine embroider the designs. You can get as creative as you want!

SpraynBond for Holding Layers

If pinning your quilt layers together doesn’t sound easy to you, try Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive. Lightly spray the layers of fabric and Stitch n Sew High Loft Fleece to hold them in place. Let dry and it’s ready for quilting.

Create corner pockets on the back using two 3½” x 3½” squares of fabric and Heat n Bond Lite Iron-on Adhesive. Follow package directions to iron the adhesive to the wrong side of squares. Peel off the protective paper and fold the squares in half diagonally; press on the fold.

Place raw edges of folded corners in top corners of wall hanging back; glue in place using iCraft Liquid Fabric Fuse. Let dry and baste.

Add binding using your favorite method.

Place dowel between the two corners.

The dowel hangs easily on a nail on a wall.
