Okey dokey, we’re going to start with heating up the laminator, pulling out the vine toner card front from the Spring Fling pack and cutting a piece of lily pad deco foil so everything is ready to go. I put all the layers together in a craft and carrier sheet on the side of my desk so it was ready to feed once the laminator was heated up.
Then I pulled out the Tropical Toucans stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh and stamped my images. Here is one of everything but note that I did stamp 2 branches and lots of flowers. Everything is colored the same though. Bright and happy! I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out.
I also die-cut a stitched oval from the Newton’s Nook Oval Frames dies and stamped the sentiment in the set on that. I inked up the edges with a blending brush and yellow ink. I actually didn’t add ink to the brush, just whatever was still on the bristles for a little depth.
After foiling my card front, I removed the transfer sheet and inked it up with some distress oxide inks. Today I chose mermaid lagoon and tumbled glass fading to almost nothing at the very top. After everything was blended I wiped the ink off the foiling with a microfiber cloth. You will see a visible difference in the shine of your foil when you clean it off. It’s so pretty!
Now we can assemble everything! I pulled out foam squares and my liquid glue pen. Everything is popped up today but some places need a little liquid glue dot where they overlap to help hold them in place.
With everything stuck down, I trimmed the excess branches off the side and added pearls to the centers o the flowers. I also added glossy accents to all three bird beaks for some shine on them too.
I really love the bright and cheery colors of this card, especially given the encouragement sentiment. I think they play together very well and that foiled background is so beautiful! The fairytale line of Deco Foil transfers is my favorite because they have this extra sheen beside the intended color that gives them a magical feel.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and found some inspiration to create something wonderful to share with someone.
