We firmly believe in supporting small business owners and especially those in our industry.

If you’ve not heard of the Ink Blot Shop before…we hope by the end of this week you’ll soon be a big fan of theirs and their amazing products. Ink Blot Shop is owned by our friend Tifany and here’s a bit about how she got started…

My name is Tifany, and I’m the owner and designer behind Ink Blot Shop.

You know when you can’t find just the right stamp to create the project you’ve envisioned? As a crafter myself, I started Ink Blot Shop to be able to create the products I wanted to use. And it turns out, I’m not the only one that wants to use them. In fact, I’ve had many crafters like you tell me, “This is exactly what I was looking for!”

I have been creating cards for as long as I can remember, and once I discovered stamping, I was hooked. Before I launched off on my own, I was lucky enough to be able to design cards and stamps for other companies and still have to pinch myself knowing that I have had several projects published in industry magazines. I still love collaborating with others and have been blessed by beautiful friendships in the crafting community.

We’re thankful for our friendship with Tifany and were thrilled when she announced NEW Stencil to her product line-up that she asked us to help share the exciting new! So join us this week as we offer incredible ideas and projects featuring her newest products paired with ours!

Hello there!  It’s Andrea with you today, and I’m excited to share a card I created using some fun products from Ink Blot Shop.

Comic Inspired Congrats Card

When I saw the Superhero Bursts stamp and Stencil sets from Ink Blot Shop, I couldn’t wait to play with them.  Being a huge superhero fan and mom to comic-book readers, this design was a no-brainer.  The Laura Kelly Baby Swiss Dots Toner Sheets made the perfect background!

Foiling and Ink-blending a Toner Sheet

Using my laminator, I transferred Silver Glitter Deco Foil to a Baby Swiss Dots Toner Sheet.  Next, I blended the foiled panel with the following colors of distress oxides: Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot.

After trimming down the panel, I adhered it to a card with Easy-Tear Tape.  I die-cut the cityscape with Whimsy Stamps’ Slimline Cityscape Dies and attached the black and yellow layers together with Mixed Media Adhesive.  I affixed the back row to my card with a combination of Easy-Tear Tape and Mixed Media Adhesive and popped up the foreground row with black 3D Foam Tape.

Using Ink Blot Shop’s Superhero Bursts Stencil set, I created the word bubbles (for lack of a better word) with Mustard Seed and Candied Apple Distress Oxides.  I stamped the outlines and words with the coordinating Superhero Bursts stamp set and added highlights with a white gel pen.  I fussy-cut the shapes and adhered them to my card with white 3D Foam Squares.  I heat-embossed a sentiment from the Spaced Out Greetings stamp, trimmed it down, and popped it up with a bit of black foam tape.  I finished with a scattering of stars adhered with Mixed Media Adhesive.
