Create Colorful Home Decor with Deco Foil Flock

I’m still sharing some inspiration for the “Hoop it up week”… Instead of making a card I wanted to share with you how fun it can be with normal paper supplies (dies, flock and foil) to make a decorative hoop. Perfect as a gift or just for in your own craftroom!

Colorful Hoop with Flock

I started out with what I normally do; making a flocked critter. For this, I used dies, foam adhesive, and flock. It’s super easy to transfer your flock on foam. You simply cut a piece of flock and foam larger than the shape you need. Next to push it through your die-cutting machine. The pressure ensures the flock sticks to the foam. You peel off the excess flock and then die cut the elements you need.

The green branch mirrored. Normally you would die cut with the flock side up, You can mirror the image when you simply cut the piece flock side down.

Next, I foiled fabric, yes, fabric!! The ThermOWeb fans probably know you can do this, I knew it too, but this is the first time I tried. First I was a bit scared doing it, the explanation on the packaging is really helpful and clear! I really was proud of myself.

I did cut out, rough side down, the word fabulous (because I’m cutting a word it needs to be mirrored). Then you’ll add the rough side on top of your fabric and use the iron to stick it to your piece of fabric. Now you peel off the protector on top and lay your foil color side up. Again you use parchment paper to iron the foil on. The results are stunning!!!

As you can see I also used a bit of foil on the bunny’s glasses and the flower. All by using the pretty Laura Kelly Foils (check the supplies list to see all products used).

Colorful Tag with Flock

I also used one of the new Transfer Sheets from Brutus Monroe to create a matching tag.

The word “Hi” is created with the flock as well, just so it fits with the rest of the hoop.

I really loved creating this fabulous hoop!! I’m pretty sure I will create more of them.
