Happy Holidays Therm O Web friends! It’s Erin here today, and I hope you have been enjoying our DT’s inspiring ideas and tips to help make this season exceptionally crafty and bright!

Having been recently been inspired by a sweet friend who is crafting up a homemade holiday season…

I’m happy to share a few projects with you today, that resonate just that!

First up, we have a pretty poinsettia created with canvas + Heat n Bond Fusible Interfacing!

My dear friend, Pattie Beltran, showed me this flower technique, and then by applying this tip to canvas + fusible interfacing, the possibilities are endless:)  Here’s a simple tag, and now I will walk you through the steps!
Here are the supplies you will need:
You will cut the interfacing to fit the fabric [remember the opposites attract, so light weight fabric uses a heavier interfacing.]
Place the bumpy side of interfacing against the back of your fabric.  And then press with a hot steam iron for about 15 seconds.
Next, cut with your favorite die.  I love how the interfacing prevents fabric from fraying!  I chose the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die.
With each flower, separate each petal from one another.  You will have 3 separate piles, keeping them within the same flower.  I opted to spray mine with some Glimmer mist.
For one set of petals, cut 1/4″ to 1/2″ of rounded side off.
Using a set of large flower petals, start to adhere them around the outer edge of a scrap circle with zot dots.
Continue with the next set of large petals.  Lastly, adhere the small petals in the center of the poinsettia.
Add any embellies you wish for the center:)
For this next one, I chose to add a Prima center kiss and added it to a headband:)
And there you have it!

Before I leave, I also wanted to share another fun idea for adding homemade decor around your home…
Just copy the first three steps from above…
Add in your child’s fingerprint to create a simple heart…
Stitch around the heart, and add the child’s name and date on the back…
and there you are, a homemade ornament!
