Hello there! It’s Amanda from Jedi Craft Girl here! I like to put words in my quilts! I get a lot of questions asking how I cut out my letters, and if I use a machine. I hand cut all my lettering. I use HeatnBond® EZ Print Lite sheets to make it a little easier. Today I’m showing you how much fun it is to use HeatnBond® EZ Print sheets to add words to your quilts.
The Strawberry Patch Quilt Pattern is available HERE.
Here is how to use the HeatnBond® EZ print sheets:
- Choose your word, letter or phrase on the computer. If you would like the Strawberry Patch lettering, click here to download.
- Choose reverse or mirror on your print settings.
- Put the EZ print sheets in the printer with the adhesive side facing up, so the printer will print on the paper side. I find it helpful to set it to a slow print setting. If it’s on fast print, sometimes it causes a paper jam. Here you can see I’ve printed “Little Joys” in reverse.
- Roughly cut around the words.
- Press to the wrong side of the letter fabric. Here you can see I’ve printed #kittyquilter and ironed it to the wrong side of the fabric.
- Using scissors, cut around each letter, peel off the backing paper and position it to the desired fabric.
- Heat set and top stitch around each letter.
The Heat n Bond® EZ print sheets also come in Feather Lite which is great for quilting because it doesn’t make your letters stiff or bulky.
