I love the 4th of July! It’s my favorite time of year! Summer, family, friends, BBQ, swimming…it doesn’t get any better 🙂 Since we are all busy during this time of year I cam up with these fun and fast cupcake toppers to add patriotic pop to your dessert table. Even the kids can help out with this project!!!
Supplies:
Star Pattern, click HERE
White felt
scraps of red fabric
iCraft® Deco Foil™ Ocean Blue
Lollipop sticks
Scraps of yarn
Cakes!
Begin by cutting the large star out of white felt.
Next trace the medium star onto the Heat n Bond® Ultra.
Iron it to the wrong side of the red fabrics. Then cut out on the pattern line. Peel off the backing
Using the pressing paper to protect the felt, press the fabric star onto the white felt star. Felt will melt and you only need a few seconds for it to adhere. Top stitch around the fabric star in navy thread.
Trace the small star onto the Heat n Bond® Ultra. Cut out ON the pattern line.
Heat set the small stars in the center of the fabric stars, using the pressing paper to protect the felt. Once completely cooled, peel off the paper backing.
Cut small pieces of iCraft® Deco Foil™ slightly larger than the center star. Place the foil right side up, cover with pressing paper and press for about 10 seconds. Since this is a small project pressing time is slightly less than stated in directions. Let cool completely.
Once cooled, gently peel off Deco Foil. Ta Da!
Hot glue lollipop sticks on the back of each star and tie ribbon or yarn at the base of the star.
Whose ready for dessert?
Have a wonderful & safe 4th of July!!!
