Spring has sprung and it’s so good to see the flowers blooming and hear the birds chirping, isn’t it my ThermOWeb friends? It just makes my heart happy. As does this collection Fern & Willard from our friends at PhotoPlay Paper, perfect for this photo of my husband and I exploring the Botanical Gardens on the first day of Spring.
Happy Spring Scrapbook Page
A mix of DecoFoil Flock and Foil is the perfect complement to the collection to give those adorable frogs (whose names are Fern and Willard, I assume) a place to sit. Thus setting a bit of a scene with the foil as water sparkles and the flock as lily pads and flowers.

Happy Spring Scrapbook Page Instructions
The background is simple to create with a stencil, Duo transfer gel, and flock. I cut a Nic Squirrel digital cut file on my Silhouette to use as a stencil and applied a layer of Duo transfer gel with a palette knife. Wait an hour for this to dry, possibly longer if you still have white visible where the Duo was applied. Deco Foil DUO that is ready for foil or flock needs to be opaque otherwise you will get overage or spillage outside of your stenciled shape.
Apply your flock or foil and then run it through a pre-heated hot laminator OR a manual die-cut machine. I like to set my page in the parchment envelope before laying the flock/foil is it means less shifting of content. Remember when applying flock that you want flock side down, flock to Duo whereas with foil you want the colored side out, facing you or silver side to Duo.
Watercolor adds a fuller effect to the background. I chose to watercolor before foiling/flocking as I didn’t want the color on top of my mediums. Sequins of similar blue hues add just a touch more sparkle and finish off the page nicely.
Have you used the Gina K foam tape? I love popping elements of my scrapbook pages up off the page and the Gina K foam tape is the perfect height like I have done above with the PhotoPlay sun sticker. Creates the perfect shadow and visual interest to the page!
As always, I have a process video over on the ThermOWeb YouTube channel which shows you the techniques used followed by the remainder of the layout coming together in detail. You can click on the video below as well.
