Happy International Scrapbook Day!
For those that are new to scrapbooking….welcome. It’s truly a labor of love craft you’ve found to collect and preserve your family and your memories. Whether you create simple pages with photos, documentation and journaling to ones worthy of being viewed in the Lourve…it’s such a fun hobby. And for some a life’s passion.
We’re happy to celebrate today’s interNational Scrapbook Day right along with you and are excited for the first time to offer you a FREE Deco Foil Toner Sheet Printable for you to use in conjunction with the sketch we’re offering.
interNational Scrapbook Day Sketch Challenge
Our FREE Zebra Pattern printable offers you many options such as toner print the design (whether at home or a copy store), then foil it. Print it on an inkjet and use it as is…perhaps ink on the background. You decide!
We hope you’ll join us and print the Zebra Pattern Limited Edition Toner Sheet and then make a layout or even a card and then share it with us in our Facebook Craft Room. If you’d prefer you can also leave us a comment and link to your project on your own blog or social account.
To get you inspired and ready to join in the fun… Suzanna has gone wild with her layout sketch and has created a video tutorial for you to watch too! Don’t miss joining us and getting entered to win! Details are below!
Suzanna here today to challenge you on this, OUR, day to one of my favorite challenges, a sketch challenge. I created this sketch with the weekly jungle theme in mind AND ThermOWeb has a free download to go with the theme. Be sure to check out the official post for that download.
Here’s the sketch;
Here’s my take on it;
As you can see, I flipped the sketch and made it my own. That’s the beauty of sketches – making them work for you and what you have to work with. My photos are horizontal in orientation and so the sketch needed flipping.
I used the zebra pattern download to create a stencil and applied some snazzy Glitz Glitter Gel through the stencil. If you have a laser printer, or take it to a printer (OfficeMax, Staples, etc) and have the PDF printed with a laser printer, you can foil it! There are even clear transfer sheets that you could have it laser printed on to foil! So many options!
Just as I did with the zebra pattern, I did something similar with this cheetah pattern only I used Blanco gel and black flock! The white of the Blanco gel is still visible in places and was done intentionally. I didn’t fully let the Blanco dry as I wanted the grey/white to show for some imperfection in the cheetah pattern, just as it’s multi-tonal in real life.
These fussy cut bits of foiled greenery from Brutus Monroe are perfect for this theme, don’t you think?!
My tutorial/process video is available if you would like to see how the layout came together!
I can’t wait to see what you create with my sketch and possibly the download if you’re able to incorporate it into your project!
Thanks for stopping in today!
