Hi!  It’s Jen from The Smitten Chicken!  I am back with part two of our Happy Fall Y’all table runner.

Happy Fall Y’all Table Runner

Do you remember this fun text for the center of my table runner?  If you missed it, you can get the free PDF or SVG here.

I made these barns as part of the Quilty Barn Sew and Stitch Along with Fat Quarter Shop.  This pattern is from Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vintage Quilt book.  Miss Lori always says to ‘be the boss of your own quilt.’  I did just that!  I swapped out the patchwork center for the fun text.  Now we need to finish off the table runner.

Supplies:

Sprayn’Bond Basting Adhesive Fabric Spray

Backing fabric

Batting

Finished table runner top

Now you need to make what is commonly called a ‘quilt sandwich.’  You layer the backing fabric wrong side up and then the batting.  Adhere the batting to the backing fabric using the SpraynBond Basting Adhesive Fabric Spray.  Then place the finished table runner on the batting.

Adhere the table runner top to the batting with the SpraynBond Basting Adhesive Fabric Spray.  The basting spray holds everything in place as you quilt…with no pins!  It speeds up the quilting process and is so easy to use.  Once everything is basted, quilt as you desire!

I quilted it with meandering loopy lines.  Don’t look too close, I’m still learning free motion quilting!  I used my favorite Aurifil thread in a new color…light orange!  (it’s actually called fleshy pink)

I love everything about this new table runner!  The kitty cat sitting on the pumpkin is sew cute!  And the Happy Fall Y’all helps me fit in now that I moved to Texas!

Thanks for stopping by.  If you would like to see more of what I am up to, you can stop by my blog, follow me Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and subscribe to my new YouTube channel.

Chirp Out!

Jen
