Halloween Mummy Kisses with StitchnSew Fleece Instructions:

To begin, create a round pattern from scratch paper that is roughly between 3-4″. Fold white cotton fabric together, and pin the pattern to the fabric. Cut around the pattern, creating two round pieces. Repeat the process with Therm O Web Stitch n’ Sew Fleece.

Sandwich the two cotton rounds between two layers of fleece, and pin all the pieces together. Machine stitch all the way around the edge using an ~ 1/4″ seam allowance. Clip the seam edge, and then make a slit in the center of one fleece and one cotton shape.

Turn the rounds right side out through the slit. Stuff the shapes with polyfill fiber, and then whip stitch the openings closed.

Wrap each round with a piece of cheesecloth.

Spray the shapes with a bit of coffee or tea stain, or ink the pieces using an ink blending tool. If spraying, allow the fabric to dry after this step.

Stitch a mouth using two strands of embroidery floss. Cut two small circles from black felt to use for the eyes. Stitch the felt, along with a pair of buttons, to the face. Then stitch the two rounds shapes together to create the head and body. The stitching helps keep the cheesecloth in place, but if you have errant pieces, secure them in place with a bit of Therm O Web Fabric Fuse Liquid Adhesive.

Make a small slit on either side of the body using a pair of sharp scissors. Poke a twig through the holes to add the arms. Add a bit of Fabric Fuse glue around the arm holes to secure the twig in place.

Add a rusty safety pin to the mummy body, and attach a hang tag to the pin with twine.
