I’m Carol from Just Let Me Quilt and I’m so glad to have you visit us today! If you check out some of the other posts this week on ThermOWeb’s blog, you’ll see it’s full of gnomes made from fabric and paper.

Therm O Web has a re-release today of their popular Gnome for the Holidays Stamp Set…perhaps you’d like to pick it up to make some fun gift tags or cards for the holiday season!

As a big fan of gnomes, I’m loving it! This is “Santa and His Dog. I bet you didn’t know he had a dog, did you! It’s a table mat that measures 28″ x 28″ when finished.

Gnome for the Holiday Christmas Quilt

Santa has quite a grip on his puppy. Maybe he’s a little wild one!

When Paintbrush Studios (PBS) offered fabric to the ThermOWeb designers to sew with, I was really excited about the beautiful designs they had to choose from. As a dog lover, I went for the “Happy Howlidays” by Richelle Lynn Garn. It came in a full yard panel of four fat quarters.

Adding the applique was so easy thanks to ThermOWeb’s Heat n Bond Lite Iron-on Adhesive. The backing easily peels off when you’re ready to place it on your fabric.

For stability when sewing small pieces on applique, iron Heat n Bond Light Weight Non-Woven Interfacing to the wrong side of the fabric that will be behind your applique.

There are several stitches you can use to hold down your applique. I like to use the blanket stitch, but you can use a straight, zig-zag, or free-motion stitch, too.

Heat n Bond High Loft Fleece adds a nice and light layer to table mats like “Santa and His Dog.” If you don’t like to pin your quilt layers together, you’ll love the way Spray n Bond Basting Adhesive works. Just lightly spray the layers and let them dry. It’s ready to quilt!

You can find “Santa and His Dog” in a PDF downloadable pattern HERE.

ThermOWeb has a lot of products that make sewing and quilting so much easier. Visit their online store to see what else you might need in your sewing room!

How many days until Christmas? Too many!
