Hi there! Alice back again with another helping of projects made with the Dear Santa collection from our friends at Photo Play. I had so much fun creating with these products and love how well everything coordinates. Today I have a set of gift tags that are dressed up with glitter.
One of the things I love about using iCraft® adhesives with glitter is that you can get really precise results – glitter just where you want it and not all over the place – and that it is so much less messy than using a liquid glue. These tags work on their own to dress up gift packaging, or tuck them in a mason jar to give as a hostess gift or as part of a gift basket.
The tags were created with assorted dies and a “To” and “From” clear stamp. On several of the tags, stickers were added with 3D Foam Squares to give a little extra dimension. All the tags are finished off with some red and white bakers twine that I picked up at Home Goods on sale. What I’m going to focus on in this post is the way iCraft® Easy-Tear Tape was used to add glitter to each tag. The first group of tags use 1/8″ and 1/4″ iCraft® Easy-Tear tape. One technique is to use the tape to add glitter to a patterned paper, as with the diagonal stripes here. It is super easy to do – first cover the parts of the paper where you want glitter with iCraft® Easy-Tear tape. For this tag I used the 1/4″ tape. Then trim any tape that extends beyond the edge of the tag. Peel off the liner and sprinkle with glitter. Tap off excess and voilà! This is another example of using iCraft® Easy-Tear tape and glitter. I love that because the Easy-Tear tape is transparent, it allows the patterned paper underneath to show through – as with the trio of gray stripes on this paper. On these tags 1/8″ Easy-Tear tape was used to create a place to anchor the sticker and sentiment. Can you imagine how hard it would be to get such neat lines using a liquid glue?!
Here is another example with a combination of 1/4″ and 1/8″ Easy-Tear tape. Another thing I like about using the tape instead of a liquid glue is that there is no drying time – which really helps when you’re mass producing tags (or at the last minute, like I tend to do!). Here are a few more tag ideas. Use 1/8″ Easy-Tear tape with glitter to create a border, such as on the “Deck the Halls” sticker used on this tag. I love the way the glitter really helps finish off the design.Use 1/4″ tape and clear or white glitter to create some modern snowbanks. In addition to tape, iCraft® Adhesive comes in sheets which are perfect for die cutting! It works with both manual and electronic die cutting systems. To create this tag, adhere the die cut iCraft over a die cut tag. Remove the liner from the front and adhere the center die cut and stamped circle. Sprinkle the outside edges with glitter. Add a sticker with 3D Foam Squares and tie with bakers twine. This one is harder to see in the photo, but I used the die cut circle of iCraft to create a glittered frame underneath the Santa sticker. Here is a peek at all the tags.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you got some ideas for incorporating iCraft Easy-Tear and glitter on your projects.

December 11, 2015 at 5:17 am (9 years ago)FABULOUS tags Alice – THANK YOU for sharing 🙂
NEW colors and NEW ways to add foil = AWESOME => can’t wait to learn MORE!!!
PS – I can’t live without my self healing craft mat, it is part of every project I create. I use the cutting side to cut, the grid on the cutting side to align and the reverse side for when I am adhering layers together AND as a sturdy base for my Big Shot when I’m die cutting and embossing too => YES, it is an AWESOME tool!!!
