Gingham Cards with Deco Foil

First, I gathered my items to start flocking. I chose the stencil, grabbed a piece of white cardstock and chose my flocking color too.

Then I taped down my stencil with Pixie Tape and spread transfer gel through it using my stencil pal to smooth it out. I love the part when I get to peel away the stencil and see the super cool pattern left behind! Don’t you?

I heated up my laminator while the stenciled panel was drying and pulled out the new Deco Foil Adhesive Transfer sheets and some gold Deco Foil. I trimmed the ones out that I wanted to use, die-cut some banners and got to work. These are so easy to use but here are the steps in case you’re new to them.

First, cut the portion out of the 6×6 sheet that you want to use. Remove the backing sheet (it’s clear) and place it on your cardstock where you want it to be.

Run it through your laminator or die cutter (you don’t have to have heat) and remove the acetate. This is what you’re left with – see the faint adhesive that’s been pressed onto the cardstock? It’s seriously magical!

Add your foil on top now and run it through your laminator or die cutter once again. Then peel off the foiling. Eeekkk!!! This part never gets old either! Now your sentiments are all ready to go!

Next, I pulled out the delightful daisy dies and my easy-cut adhesive to create a sticker to do my paper piecing on. This makes it super easy and not messy! I added the adhesive sheet to a piece of white cardstock and then used the solid daisy die to cut the bases out.

Next, I used the detail daisy die and cut it from white, yellow, orange and green cardstocks. I peeled the paper off the solid piece and added my white outlines first. Then It was super easy to add the different color sections like a puzzle. Again, it’s like magic and I love it!

Finally, my gingham panel was dry and ready for the laminator so I added blue sky deco foil flock transfer over the top, placed it in a carrier sheet and ran it through. I seriously squealed when I pulled this one apart. It turned out so gorgeous! Wouldn’t this be so sweet for a baby card?!? Keeping that idea in my back pocket for sure!

I chose kraft cardstock for my background panel, trimmed it to A2 size and splattered it with gold watercolor before adding it to a white card base. Then I cut my gingham sheet in half and popped it up with foam tape on the left side of my card. I used a combo of liquid glue and foam tape to add the sentiment banner to the top right and trimmed off the excess with scissors. Last, I used liquid glue to add my daisy flower on top of the gingham panel.

I repeated the same exact steps for the second card just using the other sentiment banner. Then I thought it would be fun to fill in the little dots on the daisy center with gold baubles to tie in the foiling and watercolor a bit more.
