Hey, everyone! It’s Lynnea Hollendonner and I have a super fun food-themed project using Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets! I love a good donut, so I decided to use the rainbow of Flock Transfer Sheets to create a yummy donut card!
Fun with Flock – Deco Foil Donut Card
I used one of my FAVORITE ThermOWeb products – Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheets! I put some heavyweight cardstock on one side of the foam adhesive and cut down some blocks of the Flock Transfer Sheets to adhere on the other side of the foam adhesive sheets. I used a paper trimmer to trim down the Flock Transfer Sheets. When you’re doing this you want to make sure that you cut the Flock Transfer Sheets colored side DOWN. If you cut colored side up you’ll tear the flock. Once I had the cardstock and Flock Transfer Sheets adhered to the Double Sided Foam Adhesive Sheets I ran it through my die cutting machine (with no dies) just to really press everything into the Double Sided Foam Adhesive Sheet.
I used the Donuts stamp and die set from The Stamp Market to build up my donuts. The die set comes with two dies – one for the donut base and one for the icing. I die cut the base from kraft cardstock and I cut the icing from Deco Flock Transfer Sheets in the colors Think Pink, Orange Glow, Yellow Sunshine, Green Envy, Blue Diamond, and Purple Punch. I just love all the colors! I couldn’t pick one … and everything is better in a rainbow! The Flock Transfer Sheets and Double Sided Foam Adhesive Sheets die cut like a DREAM!!
Once I had all the layers die cut I decided I wanted to try heat embossing some of the little “extras” in the stamp set onto the die cut Flock Transfer Sheets. And it worked wonderfully! I used Versamark ink to stamp and fine detail white embossing powder. A super fun thing happened when I heated up the powder – Instead of turning bright white it seemed to sink into the Flock Transfer Sheets and tone back. I LOVE that it looks like I stamped with a pigment ink directly onto the die cut Flock Transfer Sheets. My background needed a bit of texture, so I die cut background and used a mix of Gina K Designs White Foam Squares and iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid Adhesive to glue together the donut pieces and add a sentiment strip to my card.
