Hey everyone! Since Easter is tomorrow, I thought it would be nice to start thinking about Mother’s Day now, since it will be here before you know it! I love making my mom cards, and every time I go to her house, I see all the ones I’ve made throughout the years, still displayed on her hutch, all lined up and pretty, and it makes me smile. It reinforces why I love crafting so much, especially since she’s kept everyone I’ve ever made for her. So now, I’ve made yet one more to add to her collection, and I also made a small tag to attach to a little gift as well. Once again, I’m going to use my favorite adhesives from Therm O Web, (3D Zots, Sticky Tape Runner and Super Stik glue stick), for my card and I’ve also displayed a few photo steps to help guide you in making your own. Here’s how I made my card. I pre-scored a piece of heavyweight kraft cardstock for a card that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and I set it aside. Using my Sticky Tape Runner, I adhered cut pieces of pattern paper together, then machine stitched around the edge. Then, because my mother has been a serious quilter for years and years, I decided to add a small bit of quilting batting to the center of my card. I did this by cutting a small piece, then glued it to the center using the SuperStik, gluestick, (which is perfect for fabrics), then machine stitched around the edges. I then used the SuperStik glue again, this time adhering the tag to the piece of batting. Pop you embellishments with 3D Zots, adhere a scalloped strip of cardstock at the bottom, and for the flower, I ran another small piece of batting through my die cut machine and formed it into a flower, then sprinkled it with glitter and adhered with a 3D Zot. When you’re finished with your card, adhere 3D Zots to the back of the card and adhere it to your pre-scored card. The tag was created in much the same way, just using some scraps leftover from my card. Below are some pictures to show you how I used my adhesives.
