LAYOUT DETAILS
I started this layout with a 6×6 paper collection from Catherine Pooler. I wanted to do “non-traditional” colors for a love themed layout, but still something soft! For my 12×12 background, I just grabbed a graph type of paper from my stash that I had left over.
I used 4 pieces of 6×6 paper and adhered those down with my Memory Runner XL. Once I had those placed, I then decided where I wanted to use a couple of the NEW Love Struck Toner Card Fronts. This gave me a general idea of placement of the card fronts and also what color I wanted them to be.
I decided I wanted to foil in the Peach Princess foil and then color the background with my Buttercream ink using the ink pad direct to paper technique instead of blending. I foiled the toner sheets thru my laminator before I inked the background.
Once inked, I let dry and then rubbed with a microfiber cloth to remove the ink from the foiled areas.
This created an additional colored paper that I could use behind my photos with a touch of foil accent! I did pop the card fronts with 3D Foam Adhesive to add some dimension to the page.
Adhesive Transfers Two Ways
Next up, before I started building my page was to get those heart from the Love and Kisses Adhesive Transfers on my background!
First I cut out the hearts, removed the protective backing and then placed them on the background paper. Once I had them placed, I ran the paper thru my laminator to transfer the adhesive.
I removed the plastic sheeting from 4 of the hearts, leaving the solid heart still protected. I applied the Peach Princess DecoFoil and then ran back thru my laminator to transfer the foil.
Once the foil was transferred, I pull out my embossing powder! I removed the plastic covering with the solid heart. By leaving this on while I ran the paper thru my laminator to transfer the foil, it protected the adhesive underneath. I dumped embossing powder on the adhesive heart area and then heat set both hearts! Adhesive Transfers Two Ways!!
I did try this with some of the fine lined sayings and it worked also!
Foiling On Pictures
Next up and to finish off my layout, one of my favorite things to do is to use the adhesive transfers on pictures! Like a rub on, but easier! I trimmed out the parts I wanted to use and applied them using my manual die cut machine.
Below, you can see the hearts with the adhesive on the picture.
Next I pulled the foils I wanted to use and trimmed them to fit. I love using multi colors of foil and I thought that heart needed to be gold! Just run thru your manual die cut machine again and the foil transfers!
So fun, right?!!!! And the hearts distracted from Grandpa’s feet! LOL LOL
Finally I die cut a heart, stamped a sentiment and border, then adhered those to my layout. A few sequins, splatters and some stamping and my layout was done! I love that I decided to do something in non traditional colors for a love theme!!
