Floral Moments Altered Vignette Box Instructions

Choose which size of Vignette box you would like to alter, I chose the second-largest box in the set for my project.  If you don’t have any Vignette boxes you could also use a small gift box or even make a box from heavy cardstock for your base.

Pre-heat your foil laminator and foil the Blossom Buddies Toner card front with Amethyst Watercolor Deco Foil.  If using the A2 size you will need to foil two card fronts.  Ink the foiled card front with green and blue permanent inks, blending the colors in the center where they meet.  Measure your box base and cut the foiled and inked card fronts to size to line the inside of your box, adhering the cut pieces in place with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid adhesive.

Foil two of the Unity Heart Trees Toner card fronts with Emerald Watercolor Deco Foil and ink both pieces with light brown permanent ink.  Cut the foiled and inked card fronts to size and cover the outside of your box, adhering the pieces in place with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid adhesive.

Ink a piece of copy paper with the blue and green inks and cut narrow strips to cover the exposed edges of the vignette box on the front, adhering the strips in place with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid adhesive.

Time to make lots of flocked flowers and foliage!  Choose a piece of double sided cardstock in colors that compliment the Emerald Green and Green Envy Flock and cover the cardstock with iCraft Easy-Cut Adhesive sheets.  Peel off the adhesive backing paper and adhere the green flocks to the cardstock (fuzzy side down!), running the cardstock/flock sandwich through your die cutting machine or foil laminator set on the cool setting to ensure good transfer of the flock to the cardstock.  Peel off the backing paper from the Flock transfer sheet and die cut several pieces of greenery from each piece.  Retain the remnants of the green flocked cardstock to die cut some leaves later on.

Repeat the process with another piece of Green Envy Flock covered cardstock and die cut two larger flowers for the background of your vignette box (I ended up cutting another flower for the background once I had the box assembled but how many you use will depend upon the size of your box). Flock another piece of cardstock with some Blue Sky Flock and die cut just the flower heads from it.  Pop the blue flower head up on top of the green flocked die-cut flowers with Gina K. Designs White foam squares.

Flock several more pieces of cardstock with Blue Sky, Purple Punch, and Pink Carnation Flock transfer sheets with the iCraft Easy-Cut Adhesive sheets and die cut several layered individual flowers from them.  Assemble the flowers and finish off the centers with either a flat-backed pearl or a dot of Star Dust Stickles glitter glue.  Die-cut several leaves from the leftover Green Envy and Emerald Green Flock covered cardstocks.

Start to assemble your vignette box by adhering the Emerald Green greenery flocked die cuts to the inside back of the box and the Green Envy greenery flocked die cuts along each side of the outer edges with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid adhesive.

Adhere the larger Blue Sky and Green Envy flocked flowers over the top of the greenery on the back of the box, popping up the flower heads on one or two layers of Gina K. Designs White Foam Squares for some dimension.  Adhere the stems of the flowers to the inside back of the box with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid adhesive.

With a combination of foam squares and liquid adhesive, adhere the individual flocked flowers and leaves along the bottom of the inside of the box.  Here you can see that I popped in one more of the larger blue flocked flowers on the background to help balance out the composition.

And as a final step, finger paint a Muse token and brad with pale green acrylic paint, wiping the paint back as it dries on the Muse token so you can see the writing, and adhere it to the center of the top edge of the Vignette box with iCraft Ultra Bond Liquid adhesive.  With that your Floral Moments altered vignette box is complete!

Here are a few closeups of the finished piece.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed seeing how it came together and that you’ve been inspired to make one of your own with Therm O Web’s Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets, Foil Transfer Sheets, and Toner Card Fronts.  Thanks as always for stopping by today and be sure to come back all this week to see what other floral creations the rest of the Design Team has to share with you.  Happy creating,
