Welcome to our first collaboration with our friends at Whimsy Stamps!
Whimsy Stamps
Whimsy Stamps offers a wide variety of fun and creative products for the crafter from clear stamps (which really are whimsical!), matching dies, stencil, rubber stamps and much more! We hope you’ll take time all throughout the week to visit Whimsy Stamps Blog and see how their designers are using our products with theirs!
Here’s a little more about this fun company…We are a family owned art stamp company, in business since 2008. We are dedicated to providing crafters around the world with whimsical and fun crafting products. Our exclusive rubber stamps, clear stamps, metal craft dies and stencils are perfect for card making, scrapbooking, and many other crafting projects.
To keep this rolling today, Katrina Hunt has an adorable trio of cards we think you’re going to love!
It’s Katrina, from Paper, Scissors and Glue, to share three fun little valentine cards that would be very easy to make in bulk for a classroom! You could also do these as tags, but I took the card approach first!

Card Instructions
Begin by stamping images using the Gina K Designs ink in black onto watercolor paper. You may have to stamp images more than once because the watercolor paper is rough. This is where a stamping tool comes in handy.
After the ink has dried (a few minutes) then watercolor in images. Tips on watercoloring can be found all over the internet, but my best advice is to take it slow, work in light-colored layers, getting darker as you paint each layer. Let layer dry in-between or use a heat gun to speed the process up. Test your paint color on scratch paper, more water equals lighter colors. Use good paper, 140gsm 100% cotton. Everyone has a different favorite paper!
Once images are dry, trim out with scissors and set to the side. Additionally, create the card bases by cutting cardstock 4 inches by 8 inches and fold in half.
Front of Valentine Cards
When you have the card bases cut out, then start planning the front of your card. Using landscape dies, cut and trim Deco Foil Foam Adhesive pieces out to fit across the front of your cards.
For the card below, I used the two different colors of the Deco Foil Flock Transfer Sheets with the foam and layered them onto each other.
In addition, you can also punch shapes out of the Deco Foil Foam Adhesive Sheets to add to your card front. You can cover the foam adhesive with the flock or foil. In addition, you could use glitter.
As soon as you determine where you need to cut your landscape piece, then you will flock the pieces before placing them on the card front. First, remove the top (front of your die cut) protective cover and lie your die cut face down on the flock transfer sheet. Second, run thru your manual die cutting machine to transfer the flock (or foil). Third, carefully peel off the flock transfer sheet from the foam adhesive. Fourth, remove the back protective backing and adhere to your card front.
Whenever you have the landscape parts of your card fronts done, then use the Gina K Foam Tape to adhere your monsters, etc.
As can be seen in the next card, you can combine the flock and foil foam pieces for a unique and fun look! This is a great card for a boy!
Thanks for stopping by for our team up with Whimsy Stamps. These turned out so cute, my coworkers may get some cards in their mailboxes this year!! Have a great week!
