It’s a toad-ally awesome week here on the Therm O Web blog, and we’re so glad you could join us! Spring has arrived, and with it, we have a week of fun and adorable frog and bug projects to share with you. Today I have a sweet card to share that I made with several colors of our fabulous iCraft Deco Foil Flock transfer sheets and the Fern & Willard spring collection from Photoplay Paper.

Let’s take a closer look.

This card is something fun and different in that it’s made in a newer size to the papercraft industry, the #6 card. So to begin, create a 3.5″ x 6.25″ card base, or snatch up some of the pre-made #6 card bases from Photoplay. Trim a piece of polka dot patterned paper to fit the front of the card, and adhere it with the Memory Tape Runner XL. Die-cut the #6 Rectangle Windows shape from Green Envy iCraft Deco Foil Flock transfer sheet. Apply GinaK Designs Foam Tape adhesive to the backside of the window frame.

Wrap blue twine around the center of the die-cut window frame, tying the ends into a bow on the right side. Die-cut a wavy border die from Blue Sky Deco Foil Flock. Punch a pair of clouds from the blue flock, as well. Peel the release paper from the back of the die-cut window frame. Adhere a blue wavy border panel onto the bottom window opening, trimming off the excess from the edges, as needed. Add a bit of Mixed Media adhesive to the back of the flocked sheet, and then adhere the window frame to the center of the card.

Add stickers to the openings of the window frame, adding foam tape to the back of some to create depth and dimension. In any areas that overlap a bit of the flock, I like to add some Mixed Media adhesive to ensure a secure grip. Trim off the top of one of the cloud shapes. Add Mixed Media adhesive to the back of it, and then adhere the cloud to the top window opening. Add foam tape and Mixed Media adhesive to the back of the second cloud, and adhere it so that it overlaps the first cloud.

I love the texture of adding flock sheets to card projects. It adds a visual sense of softness without adding extra bulk, which is great when you want to keep a design flat for mailing.

Enjoy!

That little frog is adorable. Loved your card and the windows on it. That’s a great die.
