Happy fall! I love vintage farmhouse style, don’t you!! I created this neutral fall pumpkin pillow that makes a perfect addition to any farmhouse!! Let’s get started!
Farmhouse Rustic Fall Pumpkin Pillow Supplies:
HeatnBond® Lite Fusible Adhesive
(2) 20″ squares of woven plaid fabric for pilow
1 fat quarter of neutral pumpkin fabric
scrap of brown fabric for stem
20″ pillow form
22″ invisible zipper
Pumpkin pattern, click HERE
Farmhouse Rustic Fall Pumpkin Pillow Instructions:
Print the pattern. Trace it onto the HeatnBond® Lite Fusible Adhesive. (The pattern is for half the pumpkin, flip it over and trace the other side). Trace the stem. Roughly cut out around the two pieces.
Heat set it to the wrong side of the pumpkin fabric and the stem fabric. Let cool. Cut out on pattern line. Peel off the backing paper. Position pumpkin and stem on the right side of one of the 20″ pillow squares. Heat set in place.
In a dark taupe thread, stitch around the pumpkin and stem two times. Add some swirls for the stems. You can write any word on the pumpkin. I practiced on some scrap fabric first and then just went for it! The heat n bond lite acts as a stabilizer for the stitching. Stitch the letters two times, this also helps hide any mistakes 🙂
Follow THIS tutorial to insert the invisible zipper. Insert the pillow form and get super excited
!!!
I can’t decide if the pillow goes on my porch or in the entryway! I may need to make a few!
Mufasa also loves the pillow – he just matches so well!!
