Hi everyone! I’m back and excited to share another post as a Guest Designer this month. For this post, I’ve created a set of two autumn-themed cards using some of the new Brutus Monroe products.

Fall Cards with Brutus Monroe

I’ll walk through the process to make these cards, starting with the simpler one on the left. For this card, the main products I used were the new Brutus Monroe Toner Sheet Mixables in Floral Fantasy, and the new Brutus Monroe Foil Transfer Sheets in Pewter Ripples and Copper Ripples.

I started by cutting a piece of the Floral Fantasy Toner Sheet Mixables (I picked this leafy pattern) down to standard A2 size: 4.25″ by 5.5″. I then used three autumnal colors of Distress Oxide inks (Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge, and Wild Honey) to blend the piece in an ombre, starting with red at the top and blending down to the bottom with orange and yellow.

I then placed a Copper Ripples foil sheet on top, sandwiched the pieces between some parchment paper and ran that through my laminator machine. Once that was done, I could pull the foil back to reveal the beautiful, shiny pattern!

This was a bit of an experiment because I wasn’t sure if the foiling would work if I blended ink onto the piece first. One tip for this process is to use wipe your blended piece gently with paper towel to remove any excess ink from the toner pattern before you run it through your laminator machine with the foil. I think this may have helped the foil stick to the toner pattern.

Next, I used a fall wreath die to cut a beautiful fall wreath shape out of a Deco Foil Toner Sheet.

I then ran the die-cut piece through my laminator with a piece of Copper Ripples foil on top, just like I had done with the Floral Fantasy piece earlier. This created a beautifully shiny fall wreath!

Isn’t that so pretty? I love that you can use toner sheets to create foiled pieces of any shape, using whatever dies you have!

I did this again with a second fall wreath, using Pewter Ripples foil.

I then assembled all of my pieces, including my blended/foiled background, a rectangle of kraft cardstock, my two shiny fall wreaths, and some die-cut words for the sentiment.

I assembled all these pieces together using iCraft Ultra Bond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive to make the card!

I love how the simple design of this card is enhanced by all of the shine from the foil!

For the second card, I used the same Copper Ripples foil for the background, but this time, I used a stencil to create my background piece. I started by cutting a piece of kraft cardstock to standard A2 size (4.25″ x 5.5″), and blending in on the edges with some brown inks.

I then spread a layer of Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo through a leafy background stencil using a palette knife. Once the gel had dried, I layered a piece of the Copper Ripples foil over top, sandwiched the two pieces between some parchment paper, and ran the sandwich through my laminator to apply the foil. Once that was done, I could peel back the foil to reveal the beautiful pattern!

I stamped some cute fall-themed images and a sentiment for this card and prepared some accompanying pieces: a vellum square, a scalloped circle in red cardstock, and a regular circle in blending cardstock. I blended a sky and some grass onto the white circle to set the scene.

Finally, I assembled all the pieces together using iCraft Ultra Bond Permanent Dries Clear Adhesive to finish the card!

I absolutely love the detail in both of these deco foils – the ripples create a beautiful effect when you turn them in the light that is really hard to capture in photos! Here is one more close-up photo that attempts to capture the effect:

How pretty is that?

Thank you so much for following along today, and I can’t wait to share more projects with you soon!
